JBM ECO-LIFE e12 electric city bus makes European debut | Busworld Europe 2025
JBM’s 12-metre electric city bus ECO-LIFE e12 is all spruced-up with a 400 km driving range and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) to take on the European e-bus market.
One of the few companies representing Indian bus manufacturing prowess at the on-going Busworld Europe 2025 exposition is JBM Electric Vehicles (JBM EV). The company is showcasing its latest, next-generation ECO-LIFE e12 battery-electric city bus at the expo, expressing its intent to go global in its e-mobility vision. The e-bus was earlier presented at the UITP Summit held in Germany in June for the European audience.

I had an exclusive test drive of the first-generation ECO-LIFE 12-metre e-bus back in 2019. No doubt, the made-in-India electric bus has come a long way in asserting its capabilities and reliability. Today, in its revised, spruced-up avatar, the ECO-LIFE ‘e12’ is visually more upmarket and premium. So is the case with its electric engineering, light-weight build, and tech features.

The JBM ECO-LIFE e12 promises a driving range of up to 400 kms on single charge. Modular battery architecture of the bus can be customized as per operators’ requirements. The bus also supports ultra-fast charging for quicker turn-around time. Telematics and Intelligent Transport System integration are also on offer for European customers.
Interestingly, the electric bus comes loaded with advanced ADAS technologies for enhanced, active road safety. The suite includes obstacle and pedestrian detection, emergency braking, forward vehicle collision and lane departure warning, driver drowsiness alert, and 360-degree camera system, to name a few.

JBM claims to have deployed over 11,000 electric buses in various markets, accumulating over 200 million kms and catering to over 1 billion passengers. The company boasts an annual production capacity of 20,000 electric buses. It’s EV ecosystem ‘JBM E-verse’ further demonstrate its commitment to full-stack services in the EV sector. All these make the company a strong contender to take on the highly-competitive e-bus markets in Europe.
