Ashok Leyland launches India’s first Air Suspension Truck range
Ashok Leyland has introduced India’s first air suspension heavy trucks with higher payload, better comfort, and improved efficiency for fleet operators.

Ashok Leyland has launched the market’s first range of trucks with air suspension, marking a major step in the Indian commercial vehicle market. The new lineup includes the AVTR 4925 10×2 MAV, AVTR 4625 10×2 MAV, and AVTR 4525 8×2 MAV, each designed to improve payload, comfort, and operating efficiency.
The company claims that the new trucks are built to deliver better productivity with only a nominal impact on initial investment. That makes them especially relevant for fleet operators and transport businesses looking to improve revenue potential while keeping total ownership costs under control.
How are they different?
The highlight of the launch is Air Suspension technology, which is being introduced for the first time in Ashok Leyland’s AVTR truck range. According to the press release, the AVTR 4925 10×2 MAV is India’s first 49-ton truck with air suspension, while the 46T and 45T models offer payload advantages of up to 4 tons.

Beyond payload gains, the trucks are designed to improve stability in laden conditions and reduce vibrations and shocks. That should matter on Indian roads, where frequent undulations and rough stretches can affect both driver comfort and cargo safety.
Further, the new trucks also come with Intelligent Vehicle Acceleration Control (iVAC) and Automatic Traction Control (ATC) as standard features. These additions are intended to support better fuel efficiency and stronger traction across different terrains.
Value Proposition
For fleet owners, the value proposition is straightforward: higher payload, lower fatigue for drivers, and stronger long-term economics. In a segment where uptime and running costs matter as much as performance, that combination can be a major selling point.

Ashok Leyland’s latest trucks strengthen the brand’s position in the heavy trucking space, where buyers often look for a balance between durability, load capacity, and operating cost. With this move, the brand is clearly targeting transporters who want better products without compromising on ownership cost and experience.
