Solaris Urbino 10.5 Electric city bus debuts at Busworld Europe 2025

Solaris Urbino 10.5 e-bus is a compact, fully electric bus with superior manoeuvrability and high passenger capacity, rightly designed to meet the emerging needs of global cities.

As predicted earlier, Solaris Bus & Coach presented its latest addition to its battery-electric bus range – the Urbino 10.5 Electric. Debuted at the opening day of the Busworld Europe 2025, the compact electric bus is designed scores higher in terms of design, equipment, operational capacities and sustainability.

The 10.5-metre long bus claims an impressive passenger space and seating for 33 passengers. Traction batteries are located over the roof of the bus, enabling low-flat floor design and better weight distribution. A turning radius of under 17 meters guarantees impeccable manoeuvrability, even in tight spots of contemporary cities. The exterior design and interiors of the new bus are in sync with the family standards of the Urbino Electric sub-brand.

The Urbino 10.5 comes equipped with 350 kWh high-energy battery pack, expandable to a capacity of over 400 kWh. The bus maker claims a driving range of over 600 kms in single charge. The bus is powered by a synchronous motor of 240 kW power rating, and can be charged both via a plug-in connector and a pantograph system.

Technology wise, the Solaris Urbino 10.5 features the “Mirror Eye system” that replaces traditional mirrors with the cameras for improved visibility and road safety. An ADAS package includes blind-spot monitoring, speed assistance, pedestrians and cyclists detection, driver drowsiness warning system, and forward collision warning.

In addition, the air-conditioning system of the bus with a CO2 heat pump uses environment-friendly refrigerant. Solaris also claims that the e-bus achieves a recyclability rate of about 97 percent. Standardization of key driveline and body components means simpler servicing, easier spare-parts management, and lower operating costs for the operators.

Solaris offers a wide range of zero-emission city bus portfolio in Europe. The brand is also presenting two other flagship vehicles at the on-going trade fair – the Urbino 12 electric and the Urbino 18 hydrogen.
