Top 5 Electric buses to debut at Busworld Europe 2025 later this year

Electric buses are gaining momentous traction in the European market. The upcoming Busworld Europe 2025 exhibition at Brussels is set to reiterate this trend out loud.

The biennial flagship exhibition for buses in Europe – the Busworld Europe 2025 – is all set to open its doors in the first week of October later this year. The event, in recent times, is the most sought after platform for bus makers and component suppliers to present their latest innovations.

That way, global OEMs are quite upbeat about their latest fully-built electric bus solutions for the European markets. Some of them have officially announced their debut list for the Busworld Europe 2025. Here is our top 5 pick of new electric buses that are expected to debut at the coveted expo.

1. MAN eCoach

This will be first-ever debut of the brand’s first fully-electric touring coach. The e-bus is designed as a zero emission alternative to the flagship Lion’s Coach. It is expected to offer a driving range of up to 500 km, with comfortable seating for 50+ passengers. Moreover, the product is built on MAN’s proven eTruck battery packs and long-distance architecture.

2. VinFast 12-metre electric bus

Vietnamese auto giant VinFast has already made its way into the Western markets with its premium electric cars. The company is now making strides into the electric buses segment as well. It will showcase a 12-metre electric city bus, likely to be ‘VinBus‘, which is already in service in Vietnam.

The VinFast e-bus, developed in collaboration with Pininfarina and powered by Siemens Technology, is expected to boast a driving range of 300-350 km. The brand emphasizes full vertical integration, from battery manufacturing to final assembly, and aims to enter five EU markets by next year.

3. Solaris Urbino 10.5 Electric

Just last month, the Polish bus maker Solaris announced the addition of a 10.5-metre variant to its ‘Urbino‘ electric buses lineup. Designed for compact urban operations, the 10.5-meter electric bus features modular driveline technology, although detailed technical specs are expected only during the launch at Busworld.

4. VDL Citea new-generation

Netherlands-based VDL Bus & Coach is expected to launch its new-generation ‘Citea’ range of electric buses at the Busworld Europe 2025. Media reports suggest that the new e-bus would pitch for higher battery efficiency and reduced vehicle weight, thanks to a fully modular architecture for both city and regional use.

5. MAN Lion’s City 12 E (Second-generation)

MAN’s battery-electric city bus will be making its debut at the Busworld this year. The second-generation bus is said to be about 500 kgs lighter than the out-going version. With an enhanced driveline, optimized regeneration and a range of up to 500 km, it is designed for heavy-duty urban routes without mid-day charging. Further, a revamped driver’s cabin and a new infotainment system are also in place.
