Propel 470 eTR 4×2 EV: A 55T electric tractor trailer truck with a difference
The Propel 470 eTR electric tractor claims a whooping driving range of up to 350 kms on single charge, thanks to the optional 550 kWh battery pack.

Coimbatore-based Propel Industries recently unveiled its battery-electric tractor trailer truck – the Propel 470 eTR – at the bauma CONEXPO India 2024. Designed for heavy-duty transportation, the electric truck with a GCW rating of 55 tons aims to offer reliable performance and reduce running costs for the operators.
The e-truck is essentially the tractor version of the Propel 470 MEV and 470 HEV electric dump trucks that received homologation certification for road use last September. The manufacturer claims that the over 1,20,000 hours were accumulated for the testing of the electric powertrain and other critical components of the truck.

The Propel 470 eTR visually impresses with its sturdy and premium cab design and front styling. The battery packs and other powertrain components are neatly integrated into the chassis. Operators can choose between 385 kWh, 480 kWh, and 550 kWh battery pack options depending on their requirements.
As a result, the electric tractor claims an impressive driving range of up to 350 kms (with 550 kWH battery) on single charge! The claimed range is much higher than the Ashok Leyland 5530 AN AVTR EV tractor that comes with 301.5 kWh battery pack. Or any other electric truck in its class, so to speak.
Moreover, the truck is fast-charging enabled, with full charge achievable in just 70 minutes for the 385 kWh battery pack. A powerful 350 kW electric motor offers an impressive peak torque of 2,600 Nm.

The truck also packs integrated telematics and IoT systems for real-time tracking data on the truck’s performance, battery status and other essentials for the ease of operators.
Propel Industries, an ace in manufacturing of crushing equipment for construction sector, is bullish on the commercial potential of its electric trucks in the Indian market. The Propel 470 eTR benefits from the use of durable and high-quality materials and technology features, making it a potent contender in its segment.
