IVECO G-Way CNG Midibus: Reliable, low-emission solution for city transport | Busworld Europe 2025
Already successful in France, the IVECO G-WAY midibus is now available to order across Europe. It combines the advantages of low-emission natural gas with that of compact and narrower body design for urban applications.
Presented for the first time in international shows, the IVECO G-WAY is a new addition to the bus brand’s urban natural gas vehicle lineup. It addresses the need for more manoeuvrable, low-emission public transport in European and global markets. The midibus is already on sale in the French market as ‘IVECO GX 137 CNG‘ bus.

The vehicle is available in two lengths – 9.5 m or 10.7 m. At just 2.33 m wide, it is one of the narrower options in its class, which contributes to the G-WAY’s agility and ease of navigation. The gas cylinders are roof-mounted, yet the bus maintains an external height of 3.255 m, allowing it to pass under most infrastructure without issue.

Powering the G-WAY is the IVECO ‘TECTOR’ NEF 6 CNG engine, which delivers 280 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque. This engine is compatible with biomethane, a fuel that, when sourced from organic waste recovery, can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 95 percent. The engine is mated to a ZF ‘Ecolife 2’ gearbox.
The G-WAY offers a practical range, with up to 500 km of autonomy depending on operating conditions. Tank choices include 960-litre or 1280-litre capacity, corresponding to 3 or 4 tanks. While the short version (9.5 m) can accommodate over 60 passengers, while the longer version (10.7 m) handles more than 80 persons.
Passenger amenities offered as options include air conditioning, information screens, USB ports, and panoramic windows. For the driver, the design incorporates a raised seat for improved ergonomics and visibility, alongside a camera-based rear-view system that replaces traditional mirrors.
At the on-going Busworld Europe 2025, IVECO Bus is presenting a vibrant line-up of vehicles across a variety of segments and drive technologies.
