MG Windsor EV Pro is the newly launched flagship variant of the popular electric hatchback. It gets a bigger 52.9 kWh battery pack, Level 2 ADAS, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) technologies and so on.

Building on the success of MG Windsor EV, which has already carved a niche as a best-selling, aspirational EV in the mass market, the ‘Pro‘ version of the EV is here to elevate the game to the next level. It arrives packed with compelling upgrades, promising an enhanced driving and ownership experience to the Indian buyers.

2025 MG Windsor EV ‘Pro’

JSW MG Motor India has positioned the Windsor EV Pro as a tech-rich and accessible option. It is priced at ₹17,49,800 (ex-showroom) for the first 8,000 buyers. The car is also available with a Battery-As-A-Service (BaaS) ownership option, for a price of ₹12.49 lakhs and ₹4.5 per km.

So, what makes the new MG Windsor EV Pro stand out? Here is what we think, encapsulated in 5 key pointers as following:

1. Enhanced Performance and Range

At the heart of the Windsor EV Pro is its larger 52.9 kWh battery pack. This translates to an impressive ARAI-claimed range of up to 449 kms on a single full charge. While the electric motor retains its capable 136 hp and 200 Nm of torque, the upgraded battery is certainly a game-changer for everyday and usability.

Charging convenience is also a priority. The EV supports a 7.4kW AC charger, which can fully juice up the car in approximately 9.5 hours – perfect for overnight charging. For those on the go, the 60kW DC fast charger offers a rapid top-up, taking the battery from 20-80 percent SoC in just about 50 minutes!

2. ADAS “Pro-Max”

A standout addition is the Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), incorporating 12 features suchj adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, traffic jam assist, and so on. These intelligent safety features contribute to a more secure and enriched driving experience.

3. V2L and V2G technologies

Further enhancing its smartness and practicality, the Windsor EV Pro introduces Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) off-grid charging capabilities. These innovative features allow you to power external devices or even lend a charge to another EV, adding a new dimension of versatility in the electrified era of mobility. Needless to say, these techs are introduced for the first time in the mass market EV segment, thereby setting new standards for the industry.

4. Enhanced styling and colour options

The Pro variant gets dual-tone Ivory and Black interiors that enhance the premium appeal of the car. Further, the EV variant also boasts 3 new colour shades – Celadon Blue, Aurora Silver, Glaze Red). An 18” dual-tone machined alloy wheels is in place to make a bold statement.

5. Accessible Ownership

Electric cars face tremendous barrier with their higher upfront costs. This literally makes them undesirable to a majority of mass market car buyers, especially in markets like India. To make EV ownership even more accessible, MG is extending Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option, in collaboration with its financiers such as IDFC First Bank and Kotak Mahindra Prime.

This purchase model allows customers to purchase the car at a significantly lower ex-showroom price of ₹12.50 lakh, with a separate rental plan for the battery usage at ₹4.5 for every km. The scheme effectively decouples the cost and ownership of the battery from the vehicle itself. This allows for more predictable operational expenses aligned with the buyer’s actual vehicle usage.
