Fiat Qubo L: Meet this “new” but “old” MPV from Stellantis!
Fiat Qubo L is spruced-up passenger car version of the Fiat Doblo Maxi van, which itself is a rebadged model of popular French minivan platform. Nevertheless, the MPV is a balanced vehicle in terms of comfort, space, and practicality.

The quirky Italian MPV nameplate ‘Fiat Qubo‘ is now back! Fiat is introducing Qubo L this year, which is again an much-improved, modern minivan designed keeping in mind the diverse needs of Western families. The diesel-priority vehicle range is arriving in showrooms in European markets in the first half of 2026, with booking opening later this month.
The amusing part of this story is that the new Fiat Qubo L is not a completely new vehicle. It’s a very old wine, so to speak, evident from its familiar looks, silhouettes, and window angles. The car is basically a derivative from the popular French PSA Group minivan platform originally belonging to Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot Partner. It was later rebadged as Open/ Vauxhall Combo, Toyota Proace City, and Fiat Doblo.

In fact, the Qubo L is essentially a refreshed passenger version of the third-generation Fiat Doblo Maxi. It is likely that Fiat will retain ‘Doblo’ nameplate for its LCV versions, while Qubo getting standardized for the passenger segment of the MPV. Despite its sleazy origins, the new Fiat Qubo L is designed for a diverse set of family buyers with modern equipment.
Interestingly, the Fiat Qubo L is the only diesel vehicle in the brand’s stable, with an option of 130 hp automatic and 100 hp/ 130 hp manual. Although the diesel variants are prioritized, there is also a 110 hp petrol engine option, along with a 136 hp battery-electric variant that rounds out the lineup.
The minivan is available as a 7-seater (4.75m) long or a 5-seater (4.40m) short wheelbase configurations, across 3 trim levels. The EV option is available in 5-seater configuration only. Needless to say, the vehicle scores high in practicality, with 27 storage compartments and up to a 3-meters long cabin loading depth.

Moreover, the Fiat Qubo L gets Extended Grip Control that enhances the vehicle’s ability to handle various driving conditions. The system adjusts the engine response and optimizes traction for better stability and control, may it be in muddy paths, snowy roads, or gravel.
