Mahindra Veero CNG mini truck promises 19.2 km/kg mileage, 480 kms range
The new Mahindra Veero CNG will be offered in two trims, with a starting price of ₹ 8.99 lakhs*. The mini truck competes against Tata Intra V20 Bi-Fuel (CNG) and Ashok Leyland Bada Dost CNG in the Indian market.

Mahindra has just begun the sales of its CNG-powered ‘Veero‘ range of mini trucks in the Indian market. Built on the company’s next-gen modular Urban Prosper Platform (UPP), the Veero CNG promises lower running costs and improved capabilities and safety than its predecessors.
A 1.4-litre spark-plug ignited, turbo-petrol engine powers the Veero CNG. It generates 67 kW of peak power and 210 Nm of torque, with the help of a 5-speed manual gearbox. The mini truck is equipped with a 150-litre CNG tank, along with an additional 4.5-litre petrol tank for backup.

This, in turn, enables the vehicle to offer a pure-CNG driving range of about 480 kms, with a claimed mileage of 19.2 km/kg. The contingency petrol option can extend the range further to hit 500 kms. The Veero boasts a payload capacity of 1.4 tons, with a cargo bay measuring 3,035 mm.
Moreover, the CNG versions will be available only in the longer-wheelbase ‘XXL’ avatar, measuring 4,980 mm bumper to bumper. The base variant (1.4 XXL SD V2) is priced at ₹ 8.99 lakhs, while the 1.4 XXL SD V4 (A) trim with a driver-side airbag costs ₹ 9.39 lakhs.

Further, the driver cab is ergonomically designed and is great to use. Visibility and comfort is top notch, thanks to the reclining seat for the driver. Notable features include air-conditioning, Engine Stop/ Start system, Touchscreen infotainment with Reverse parking camera, and ‘Power’ mode. Not to mention the first-in-class digital instrumentation and steering-mounted controls.
