Tata Ace EV 1000: Improved dynamics of the electric mini truck ‘hits a tonne’
Tata Motors’ quintessential electric SCV has reached some maturity in terms of practicality and performance in its latest Tata Ace EV 1000 version with a higher rated payload of 1 tonne.

It’s been two years since the market debut of the electrified version of Tata’s popular Ace mini truck in India. The company had partnered with several e-commerce and last-mile delivery customers to enhance fleet adoption of the Ace EV in the country.
Based on real-world customer inputs, the automaker has made some critical improvements to the electric mini truck, which is reflected in product’s latest iteration – the Ace EV 1000. The latest version boasts higher payload capacity and improved driving range.
The new Tata Ace EV 1000 is rated with a payload capacity of 1 tonne (2,120 kgs GVW), a huge step up from the 600 kgs payload limit of the original Ace EV. The EV’s payload is even greater than that of diesel, petrol and CNG variants of the Tata Ace.

Further, the ARAI-certified driving range of the latest electric mini-truck is 161 kms per single charge, as against the previous claim of 154 kms for the Ace EV. It continues to offer 27 kW max power and 130 Nm of peak torque at 2,000 rpm. The charging capabilities of the Ace EV also remains unchanged.
The Ace EV 1000 is still powered by the same ‘EVOGEN‘ powertrain and 21.3 kWh Lithium Iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. More importantly, the customers of the new Ace EV 1000 can claim a battery warranty of 7 yrs / 1,75,000 kms.
With improved vehicle dynamics and service support from the manufacturer, the Tata Ace EV is at a massive head-start in its segment, which is about to witness more competition from the likes of Eicher Motors, Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM), and Switch Mobility in the coming months.
