2017 Genesis G90 (EQ900) Luxury Sedan – In Pictures
Hyundai‘s newly born luxury marque Genesis has revealed its first ever and flagship model of its upcoming line-up, the G90 luxury sedan. This model is significantly premium-looking and loaded with exciting luxury and safety features than the model it replaces, the Hyundai Equus.
The exterior design of the new luxury sedan is predominantly borrowed from Hyundai’s recent Vision G concept. The styling is largely upscale, thanks to a drawn-out hood and an overlooking hexagonal grille with chrome finish. The angular window line and a neat silhouette gives the car its personality, while stylish multi-spoke alloys and vertically-flowing tail lamps are interesting touches.
On the inside, the level of premium-feel is ensured as the exterior. The chocolate-brown leather upholstery gets a great deal of wood-finish and chrome accents. The center console of the attractive dashboard flows into the rear seat area separating two electrically-operated seats. Other features include a Lexicon sound system, 12.3-inch infotainment screen, wireless charging, and a three-zone “smart” climate control system.
In terms of engine line-up, the G90 sedan will feature Lambda 3.8 V6 GDi, Lambda 3.3 V6 T-GDi, and a Tau 5.0 V8 engines. Of the lot, the new 3.3-litre featuring a twin-turbo setup producing 370 hp and 510 Nm of max power and torque is notable. An 8-speed automatic gearbox and a permanent all-wheel drive system is standard for the entire line-up. The company claims that the NVH (Noise-Vibration-Harshness) levels have been significantly reduced than that of Equus, and is equipped with triple door seals and double glass insulation to ensure a comfortable and quiet ride.
The Genesis G90 will be first launched in South Korea in early next year as EQ900, while other international markets may receive the sedan in the latter half of 2016. India is definitely not on the list of Genesis Motors, at least in the immediate future.
