Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) has made public the ‘electric’ iteration of its most-popular ‘Creta’ SUV for the Indian buyers. The all-new Hyundai Creta Electric, which is set to officially debut at the upcoming Auto Expo 2025, Delhi, will go on sale in the domestic market this year.

Marking a significant milestone in its EV line-up, the new Creta Electric signifies Hyundai’s efforts to offer a localized electric SUV designed with Indian customers in mind. The EV joins the company’s strong lineup of battery vehicles that also includes Hyundai Kona Electric and IONIQ 5.

Design and styling wise, the Creta Electric is largely same as the regular Creta. However, the vibrancy of the EV is exemplified by unique pixelated graphics up front and over the rear. The front grille hosts the charging port. Yet another interesting design element is the car’s Active Air Flaps (AAF) that strategically manages air flow for cooling and aerodynamics. The EV also comes with R17 ‘Aero’ alloy wheels with tyres of low rolling resistance for better efficiency.

Moving on, the Creta Electric will be available with two battery options – 42 kWh and the ‘Long Range’  51.4 kWh variant – supporting a driving range of 390 kms and 473 kms in single charge respectively. The car claims a punchy acceleration of 0-100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds, thereby guaranteeing a sporty drivability for the users.

Huge popularity of Hyundai Creta SUV gives the EV a head start to get initial traction in the Indian market

Leading the technological feat of the Hyundai Creta Electric is its Vehicle to Load (V2L) feature. The technology enables users to use the car as an external power source to run external devices, both inside and outside the vehicle. Other tech highlights of the car are ‘Shift-by-wire’ gear-control system and ‘i-Pedal’ technology for seamless one-pedal driving.

The electric SUV will be available in 4 variants, namely Executive, Smart, Premium and Excellence. Paint options for the car includes 8 monotone and 2 dual-tone options including 3 Matte colors. The EV also gets an exclusive ocean blue metallic shade with blackened roof, according to Hyundai.
