Tata Harrier EV: An electric SUV from Land Rover pedigree | Auto Expo 2023
The Tata Harrier EV concept is engineered on OMEGA architecture, derived from the legendary Land Rover D8 architecture, in sync with Gen 2 EV platform.

Rumour was that Tata Motors is to reveal Punch EV at the Auto Expo 2023, but an electrified concept of Harrier SUV is something that I did not expect.
What makes this concept more interesting is that Tata did not simply reimage the Harrier just with a battery and an electric motor. The Harrier EV is conceptualised as a distinctive and dynamic SUV in styling, tech features, future-readiness, and performance.
To start with, the 5-seater monocoque SUV is said to be developed in collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), engineered on OMEGA architecture, derived from the legendary Land Rover D8 architecture. The aggregates are matched with the Gen 2 EV architecture, making it an electric all-wheel-drive SUV.
Next, Tata claims that precision and efficiency are reflected in Harrier EV’s DNA. Hence, the clean surfaces, crisp lines, sharp intersections, and coupe-ish silhouette. The dual-tone roof and bright garnish over the windows give the SUV a seductive look.

Wide DRLs and emotive lighting are top notch. The ‘serrated turbine blade’ alloys of the Harrier EV is said to have sculpted for optimal aerodynamic efficiency.
Although the Harrier EV is just a concept and still have time for maturation, the future-ready SUV conveys the wide spectrum of ambitions that Tata Motors aims to achieve with a mass-appealing, tech-savvy electric SUV.

The Punch EV may even get production-ready before Harrier EV does, but the latter is likely to be one with all the bells and whistles.
