Volkswagen Virtus GT Line, GT Plus Sport: Elevating the sedan experience
The new Volkswagen Virtus GT Line and Virtus GT Plus Sport variants cater to the emerging buyer aspirations for fresh and differentiated ‘sporty’ aesthetics and enhanced features.

Volkswagen India has recently expanded its Virtus sedan lineup with the introduction of two new variants – the GT Line (6MT) and the GT Plus Sport (6MT) – for a starting ex-showroom prices of ₹14.07 lakh and ₹17.84 lakh respectively.
Drawing on the black themed concept of the Virtus revealed earlier, the new variants are styled to further elevate the dynamism of the ‘GT’ badging in the sedan’s line-up, according to the manufacturer. Apart from differentiated aesthetics and sporty treatments, the new GT variants also infuse more features to excite the buyers.
The Virtus GT Line brings the sporty appeal of the coveted ‘GT’ badge to the affordable end of the product spectrum. The latest variant packs the aspirational 1.0-litre TSI engine mated to a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission options. The blackening effect is visible on the front grille, LED headlamps, LED taillamps, OVRMs, 16-inch ‘razor’ alloy wheels, window bars, badging and so on. The interiors are also blackened, with gloss black dashboard décor and black leatherette seats.
Further, the GT Line comes loaded with value features including electric sunroof, KESSY push start stop option, a 20.32-cm digital cockpit, a 25.65 cm touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, auto dimming IRVM, rain sensing wipers, auto headlights and so on. This is in addition to the standard 6-airbags, ABS with ESC, EBD, TCS, and Brake Assist, and Hill hold.

The Virtus GT Plus Sport, on the other hand, is for the 1.5l TSI EVO petrol engine version, coupled with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG. In addition to what GT Line is equipped with, this flagship variant comes with amplifier and subwoofer, first-in-class electric front seats that are also ventilated and so on.
Visually, the GT Plus Sport stands out with its red-coloured ‘GT’ badging and fender treatment, ‘Aero kit’ for bumpers, side skirts, and rear diffusers, and dual-tone roof. Interiors have also received black and red treatments that enhance sporty appeal of the sedan.
