New Hyundai Grand i10, Xcent Facelifts Coming Soon

new Hyundai grand i10New Grand i10 land by January 2017; Facelifted Xcent by March 2017.

As per Autocar India‘s latest reports, the much-awaited facelifts of Hyundai’s popular models Grand i10 hatch and Xcent compact sedan will go on sale in the first quarter next year. This is the first ever model refreshment for both the cars since their launch a couple of years ago. The Euro-spec Grand i10 facelift was revealed to public at the Paris Motor Show last month, and will remain as blue-print for the upcoming Xcent facelift as well.

As far as both the cars are concerned, the front facia is largely going to be similar with very minor detailing. The new design elements include redesigned bumpers and wider lower grille, slightly tweaked headlamps with optional LED inserts, and added character lines on the hood and quarter panels. On the inside, changes are going to be limited to new dual color scheme and trim materials, largely retaining the existing dashboard layout. A touch-screen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation may hop on to the top trims of both the cars.

The side profile of both the cars will remain largely the same. The new Grand i10’s rear styling includes new wide-open lower bumper, fancy C-pillar decoration complementing the door and rear windshield borders, and tweaked taillamps. While the rear profile of the new Xcent is to feature bolder-looking boot-lid and fenders, trying to look contemporary to other Hyundai sedans.

The engine options and performance rating are going to be the same as earlier. This includes the 1.2-litre 4-cylinder Kappa petrol and 1.1-litre 3-cylinder CRDi diesel engines in both the cars, mated to a standard 5-speed manual gearbox. The 4-speed automatic transmission option currently available in the top-spec 1.2 petrol trim on both the siblings will continue as well.

With the 2017-model year updates, both the Grand i10 and Xcent models can better fight the much spiced-up competition than it was a couple of years ago.
