2018 Isuzu D-Max Face-lift: The visual revisions are quite subtle and minimal, depending on the variants.

Isuzu Motor´s popular D-Max pickup truck is all-set for an another face-lift in its current, second-generation avatar. Back in 2015, the D-Max received minor exterior updates, and the latest 2018 refreshments will keep it fresh enough to take on its rivals in the South Asian market.

As per the official images, the new Isuzu D-Max boasts a re-worked front grille, more of an up-side-down makeover from the previous look. But it is even more aggressive, while the headlamp assemblies are more sharp, especially the L-shaped LED DRL detailing. In the lower bumper, the fog lamp is housed in a plastic garnish, while the skid plate is well-pronounced now. Depending on the variants, the lower styling may get dual-tone embellishments, while new alloy design for the high-spec double-cab variant is also assured. Rest of the body structure and styling elements are largely untouched. New paint schemes may be added to new pickup.

On the inside, there seems hardly any major revisions. The plain-yet-functional dashboard with 3-spoke steering wheel is retained, although the brown fabric upholstery is new. There is less likely to be any new functional upgrades inside the cabin.

Details on engine and technical upgrades are not yet known officially. Considering the nature of the face-lift, Isuzu is likely to continue the RZ4E-TC 1.9-litre and 4JJ1-TCX 3.0-litre diesel engines in the Thailand market. The former generates 150 PS of max power, while the 3.0-litre variant delivers 177 PS and 380 Nm of torque.

In India, the Isuzu D-Max second-generation is sold as V-Cross since last year, with the only option of the 1.9-litre diesel engine. The company is likely to showcase the latest face-lift at the 2018 Auto expo next year, just as how it did the previous time.
