2018 Hero Super Splendor 125cc (Next-Generation) Launched

Hero MotorCorp has introduced the new ‘Super Splendor’ in the Indian market and will be made available in its dealerships across the country. Cashing on the cult status of the ‘Splendor’ moniker, the new bike is targeted at young buyers in urban and rural markets who are look for a reliable commuter bike at affordable prices. It takes on Honda Shine and Suzuki SlingShot in the segment.

The company says that the new bike offers best-in-class performance and fuel efficiency. The bike is said to offer 27 percent more power and 6 percent more torque than its previous generation. New features includes All Time Headlamp On (AHO), improved seat profile, wider rear tyre for better road grip, side utility box, and an under seat storage.
The Super Splendor is powered by an all-new 125cc air-cooled, single cylinder OHC engine with Torque-on-demand feature. Paired to a 4-speed constant mesh gearbox, the engine delivers a maximum power output of 8.4 PS (11.4 kW) at 7,500 rpm and peak torque of 11 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The motorcycle is equipped with Hero i3S technology for better fuel economy, which is basically an idle stop and start system.
Visually, the new Super Splendor is looks largely similar to the previous model, except for the chrome-finish muffler, sleek tail light and refreshing body graphics. The rider meter console is also spruced-up now. The bike can be availed in five metallic color options – Black with purple, Black with silver, Black with Fiery Red, Candy Blazing Red and Heavy Grey.
Hero is perhaps the largest two-wheeler manufacturer globally. In India, the company enjoys over 50 percent market share in the two-wheeler segment.
