100 percent zero-emission van can drive around 112 kms on single charge.

As a part of “Future of Mobility” theme at 2018 Auto Expo, Mahindra displayed the eSupro battery-electric passenger van early this month. The company has already won a deal for 50 eSupro vans for HRTC’s ‘Ride with Pride’ initiative, which aims at emission-free last mile connectivity. Catering mainly to the B2B segment, the eSupro is also available in cargo van avatar as well.

Built on the successful Supro SCV platform, the eSupro features a 3-phase induction motor that drives the rear wheels using a direct drive transmission, by sourcing power from 72V Li-ion type battery. The vehicle delivers 25 kW (33.5 hp) power at 3,000 rpm and 91 Nm torque at 3,000 rpm. On full charge, the eSupro can drive up to 112 kms, with an average charging time of 8 hours and 30 mins to replenish the battery from nil.

Mahindra eSupro electric SCV is available in both passenger and cargo van versions.

The passenger van with a kerb weight of 1,320 kgs can seat up to 7 passenger excluding the driver. The van measures 3,798 mm long, 1,540 mm wide, 1,922 mm high, with a wheelbase of 1,950 mm. Front suspension is Mc Pherson struts with coil spring, while the rear suspension is all leaf-spring. The front brakes are disc-type, and regenerative braking technology is available as well.

Apart from HRTC, the Mahindra eSupro is extensively used by Reliance Infrastructure, Mumbai and Auroville, Puducherry, for last-mile connectivity. Brring Logistic, Delhi and Mahindra’s Smart Shift, Bengaluru are also using eSupro fleet for deliveries of goods and products, claims the automaker.
