Lexus RC-F Sport Coupe Likely To Be Offered In India

Powered by a 5.0-litre V8 engine generating up to 477 PS and 530 Nm of max output.

Lexus RC-F’s aerodynamic styling includes grille and fender vents, aero-stabilizing fins, side under body kits, and an active rear spoiler.

We do know that the luxury marque Lexus is debuting in the Indian market with three models this year. But the high point is that the RC-F performance coupe is also likely to be added to the brand’s stable sometime later. The Toyota-owned brand has reportedly previewed the RC-F at a dealer-level event in Kerala, supposedly to kindle interest among its potential buyers ahead of the brand’s official launch.

The car in question is a high performance version of the Lexus RC premium coupe. The RC-F receives significant aerodynamic treatment including the sporty front grille and fender vents, aero-stabilizing fins, side under body kits, and an active rear spoiler. There is also a carbon fiber exterior package on offer for the car in Japan. The 19-inch forged aluminum wheels are standard, along with an independent suspension on both the axles. On the inside, the RC-F features a classy cabin loaded with in-cabin features and technologies.

Under the RC-F’s hood is 5.0-litre, 32-valve V8 petrol engine with DOHC and dual VVT-i technology. It generates 477 PS of max power and 530 Nm of peak torque, and is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission sending power to the rear wheels. The car claims 0-100 kmph sprint in just 4.5 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 270 kmph.

Lexus RC-F has been optimised for out most handling and driving dynamics, aided by vertical G-sensor for Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM), 3-mode Torque Vectoring Differential (TVD), independent suspension, and Brembo disc brakes with ABS, EBD, and brake assist.

Once launched in India, the Lexus RC-F will take on the likes of the newly-launched Nissan GT-R, Ford Mustang, BMW M4 coupe, Audi RS6 and RS7 Sportback, and Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe. It is expected to be priced around INR 2-3 Crores, with direct CBU import from Japan.
