Fastest and most powerful production model from Bentley’s stable till date.

Bentley‘s Continentals are definitely irresistible, not just because of their superlative performance, but also that their performance keeps getting bigger and better with every new models, that too in leaps and bounds. The latest Continental Supersport thrusts off 700 hp power and a whopping 1,017 Nm of torque, claiming 0-100 kmph sprint in 3.4 seconds. This makes the Supersport quickest and fastest continental ever, even outrunning the Continental Speed launched last year by 67 horsepower.

But the high point of the Supersport is its new 6.0-litre 12-cylinder engine, that crowns the car the most powerful Bentley ever! The massive output of the W12 engine is delivered to its wheels by an 8-speed automatic transmission, also assisted by new torque convertor and related electronics. The engine also features reworked crankshaft and connecting rods, along with larger turbochargers and and inter-coolers.

The sheer size and heaviness of Bentley Continentals, matched by performance, is their greatest USP

That’s not all. The new Supersport has received some handling and suspension upgrades, with the car lighter than any other previous Continentals. The suspension has been lowered a bit, also a bit stiff. The titanium exhaust system and carbon-ceramic brakes are on the list, while the brake-based torque-vectoring system is from the hot-performance Continental GT3-R edition.

The interiors of Continental Supersports gets plenty of faux-suede and carbon-fiber trim

The brute power is incomplete without the visual beauty in a Continental, and so the latest Supersport comes with elegant body kits that are very appealing. This includes the new front splitter, rear diffuser, and side sill extensions – all carbon-fiber. Numerous detailing on the front grille and hood, for instance the vents on hood and fenders, renders an infallible look, while the optional rear spoiler and side decals redefines the grandeur of all Continentals. On the inside, the cabin receives an extension treatment of faux-suede and carbon-fiber trim, with Supersport logo all over.

The sheer size and heaviness of the Continentals is their greatest USP, although they pretty much dim the performance prospects. But, it is worth the loss I would say. The new Continental Supersport will be offered in both coupe and drop-top convertible versions, with the latter better in performance with a higher price tag.
