Fiat Avventura Urban Cross Priced At INR 6.85 Lakhs

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) India has launched its perky-looking Urban Cross in the Indian market, with the prices ranging from INR 6.85 Lakhs to INR 9.85 Lakhs (Ex-showroom Delhi). The crossover hatchback will be available in both petrol and diesel avatars, the former being the top-of-the-line ‘Powered by Abarth’ variant. The Urban Cross premiered at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo last February.

Fiat Avventura Urban Cross is available in 3 trim levels – Active, Dynamic, and Emotion – featuring dual-tone Burgandy-finish interiors

The ‘Emotion’ pack petrol variant is the 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol engine generating up to 140 PS and 210 Nm of torque at peak demand. The diesel versions in ‘Active’ and ‘Dynamic’ trims are powered by the familiar 1.3-litre Multijet turbo-charged unit producing 93 PS and 209 Nm of torque. Both the engines are paired to the standard 5-speed automatic shared with the Punto range.

The Urban Cross can be rightly termed as an urbanite’s version of the already available Avventura crossover. Its attitude is different from the latter, looks more serene and sparkly, and looses the external spare wheel. The colour scheme is quite new, the grille and headlamps are given mild tweaks, while the new 16 inch alloys wheels and floating roof spoiler are refreshing.

On the inside, the Urban Cross comes with a dual-theme burgandy interiors with leather finish, although the dashboard layout remains the same. There are no high-terrain gauges (inclinometers and compass) in this car, while the 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation is standard across the range. Other features with this car includes rear AC vents, steering mounted controls, dual front airbags, and ABS with EBD.

The company seeks to hit high volume sales with the Urban Cross, as the Avventura did not bring good fortunes in that regard. The new car is open for bookings now and nation-wide deliveries will commence from October 1, the company said in a press statement.
