At the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, Renault revealed two specially designed Kwid tiny SUV concept models – the adventure wannabe Kwid Climber and the track-ready Kwid Racer. Probably the company is celebrating the big success of the Kwid hatch in the Indian market since its launch in September last year.
Both the funky concept models boast certain exterior and interior modification made on the regular Kwid small car. Although the company did not reveal the engine tech-specs of the cars, it is likely that these cars are powered by the same 0.8-litre engine as the regular car.

The Kwid Climber edition sports heftier tyres with multi-shade alloys and under body protection with muscular plastic claddings over the wheel arches and door panels. The headlights and tail lamps get plastic feedings surrounding them. On the inside, the dual-tone interiors have been spruced-up with reddish-orange colour trim at all possible areas including the steering wheel, gear knob, and seat graphics. On the whole, the alterations both inside and outside conveys that the car is ready for adventure and off-road.
The Racer concept, on the other hand, aims for asphalt racing circuits. Therefore, the car gets aggressive styling elements including the LED-DRL integrated headlamps, a sporty high-profile alloys and tyres, aggressive bumper under body skirts and rear spoiler, and side graphics. This car is a 3-door version and houses two racing-ready bucket seats and seat belts. The whole cabin is protected by a roll-cage.
Both the concepts features a touch-screen entertainment system. These are purely show cars and Renault has no plans to launch them in the market. The company also launched the latest face-lifted 2016 Renault Duster SUV at the show.
